Time zone converter

Convert a date and time from one city or time zone to another.

How it works

Pick a date and time, the place it is in, and the place you want. The converter finds the exact moment and shows the local time on the other side, with the day if it changes. Daylight saving time is applied from the official IANA time zone database in your browser, so a call booked for March or November shows the right hour even though the US, Europe and Australia change clocks on different dates.

Frequently asked questions

Is EST the same as ET?

Not exactly. EST (UTC−5) is Eastern Standard Time, used in winter. In summer the East Coast uses EDT (UTC−4). “ET” covers both. Most people say EST all year, so pick the city, not the abbreviation, and the converter handles it.

Why is my conversion off by one hour?

Usually daylight saving time. The US changes clocks on the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November; Europe changes on the last Sundays of March and October. For a few weeks each year the gap is one hour different.
